My name is Jenny Hardison and I'm addicted to furniture. I began working in the furniture industry in 2003. I continued in the corporate furniture setting for the next 10 years. Much of this time was spent space planning and designing offices, schools, hospitals and businesses.

I grew up with a father who loved antiques and my mother had a passion for family heirlooms. Combine my childhood with my work experience and now here I am drooling over your grandmothers china cabinet...I want to restore it or paint it depending on its era and have it be loved by a new generation.

But while I am refinishing furniture for you to enjoy I've got 4 little people circling around me in the process...and sometimes I'm interrupted and sometimes my designs take a while to finish...and since I love to write and share life with others what better to do than blog about it all. 

It was six years ago that I became a mom for the first time and shortly within 3 years I had four children! Motherhood in general is not for the weak and motherhood x 4 in three short years will just about kill you.

Fortunately for me and my children, I am still alive. But I had to retire from the furniture industry and was forced to take up bottle feeding, pumping, diaper changes, time-outs and late nights. I went from having one boss to having 4 little bosses who dictated everything I did.

My passion and love for timeless furnishings and design has stood the test of children. Now that I am the proud mom of a 6 year old,
4 year old twins and a 2 year old,
I finally have my head above water just enough that I can dive back into what I love.

Stripped and Primed Carousel Design was born out of my desire to restore and refresh furniture. However, the name "Stripped and Primed Carousel Design" was not chosen just because I am spending much of my time stripping, sanding, and priming furniture for you. 

The business' name "Stripped and Primed Carousel Design" was chosen because every day my children are stripping me of my sanity, my God is stripping me of myself, and then priming me each day with His new mercies, and lets just say it...my husband is...well never mind, we won't say it. But it is true, every avenue of my life is being stripped in some shape or form and I totally embrace it all.
